1. Acceptance and eligibility

By accessing or using TwinMail, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. You must be at least 16 years of age to use the service. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent. By creating an account, you represent that you meet these eligibility requirements.

2. Service description

TwinMail is a local-first email management application developed by Twindevs, Inc. The service provides email aggregation, people-centric inbox organization, encrypted multi-device synchronization, family delegation features, and optional AI-powered tools. Email content is stored locally on your device; cloud infrastructure is used only for encrypted synchronization.

3. Account registration

You must provide accurate and complete information during registration. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access. Twindevs is not liable for losses arising from unauthorized use of your account.

4. Subscription tiers and billing

TwinMail offers the following subscription tiers:

  • Free ($0/month): 1 connected account, local-only storage, 5 GB archive import, local AI features.
  • Personal ($9/month or $90/year): Up to 3 connected accounts, E2E encrypted multi-device sync, unlimited archive imports, local AI features, priority support.
  • Family ($19/month or $190/year): Up to 10 users, all Personal features, family delegation roles, cloud AI credits, priority support.
  • Lifetime ($299 one-time): All Family features with no recurring fees. Limited to early adopters (500 units).

All subscriptions are billed through Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You may cancel at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial billing periods. Annual plans receive a 17% discount.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use TwinMail for:

  • Sending spam, bulk unsolicited email, or phishing attempts
  • Distributing malware, viruses, or harmful code
  • Violating third-party intellectual property rights
  • Illegal activities or content prohibited by applicable law
  • Attempting to breach security or access other users' data
  • Automated scraping, API abuse, or reverse engineering

6. Intellectual property

The TwinMail application, brand, documentation, and related materials are the intellectual property of Twindevs, Inc. You retain full ownership of your email content and personal data. Twindevs does not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.

7. Open-source components

TwinMail incorporates open-source software including Tauri (MIT/Apache 2.0), libsodium (ISC), React (MIT), and SQLite (Public Domain). These components are subject to their respective licenses. A full list of open-source dependencies and their licenses is available within the application.

8. Privacy

Your use of TwinMail is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. Our zero-knowledge architecture means we cannot access your email content, attachments, or search indices.

9. Service availability and limitations

TwinMail strives for 99.9% uptime for cloud synchronization services. Local application functionality does not depend on cloud availability. Planned maintenance will be announced 48 hours in advance when possible. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service.

10. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. You may delete your account through the application settings. Upon termination, you have 30 days to export your data before it is permanently deleted from our servers. Twindevs may terminate accounts that violate these Terms with reasonable notice.

11. Limitation of liability

TwinMail is provided “AS IS” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Twindevs' total liability for any claims arising from or related to these Terms or the service is limited to the amounts you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration under AAA (American Arbitration Association) rules. You agree to resolve disputes individually and waive the right to participate in class actions.

13. Changes to terms

Twindevs may update these Terms of Service at any time. We will provide at least 30 days notice of material changes via email to the address associated with your account. Continued use of TwinMail after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
